Karl Storz Refurbished 5.0 mm 30º Hopkins II Laparoscope New Body
The Karl Storz Hopkins II is a 5.0 mm 30-degree rod-lens laparoscope used for laparoscopy. It relays a direct optical image of the abdominal or pelvic cavity to a coupled camera head for display on a surgical monitor.
Rigid rod-lens endoscopes carry the image along a train of glass rod lenses rather than a fiber bundle, which transmits more light and resolves finer detail than older thin-lens or fiberoptic designs. The scope has no light source or sensor of its own: it couples to a separate camera head at the eyepiece and draws illumination from a light cable connected at the light post, and it is introduced through a trocar cannula. Its forward-oblique optic gives an angled field that lets the operator survey around the central axis by rotating the scope rather than repositioning the sheath. Instruments of this class are handled by general, gynecologic, urologic, and bariatric surgeons.
Key Features
- 30-degree viewing angle - angles the field so rotating the scope sweeps the view around the axis.
- 5.0 mm diameter - a shaft sized for smaller ports while retaining a usable light and image budget.
- Rod-lens optical system - relays a bright, wide image through the shaft and holds detail across the depth of field.
- Light-post illumination - accepts a fiberoptic light cable so illumination scales with the connected light source.
Ideal For
- Hospital and ambulatory surgical operating rooms
- General and gynecologic laparoscopic surgery
- Facilities running tower-based HD or 4K camera systems
- Use by general, gynecologic, urologic, and bariatric surgeons
