The Covidien ForceTriad is an electrosurgical generator that delivers radiofrequency energy for cutting and coagulating tissue during surgery. It powers monopolar and bipolar instruments and sets output modes and levels from a front-panel interface.

Electrosurgical generators convert line power into high-frequency current that heats tissue at the active electrode to cut, desiccate, or coagulate, with the circuit completed through a patient return electrode in monopolar use. The unit provides selectable cut and coagulation modes, connects to handpieces and footswitches, and monitors the return-electrode connection during operation. It functions as the central energy source in an operating room and pairs with compatible instruments and accessories.
