Smith & Nephew Refurbished Dyonics 3895 4.0 mm 70° Arthroscope
The Dyonics is a 4.0 mm 70-degree rod-lens arthroscope used for arthroscopy. It relays a direct optical image of a joint space to a coupled camera head for display on a surgical monitor.
Rigid rod-lens endoscopes carry the image along a train of glass rod lenses rather than a fiber bundle, which transmits more light and resolves finer detail than older thin-lens or fiberoptic designs. The scope has no light source or sensor of its own: it couples to a separate camera head at the eyepiece and draws illumination from a light cable connected at the light post, and it is introduced through a cannula through a small portal incision. Its lateral, side-viewing optic gives a sideways field that inspects recesses and gutters lying off the main axis. Instruments of this class are handled by orthopedic and sports-medicine surgeons.
Key Features
- 70-degree viewing angle - directs the view sideways to inspect recesses off the main axis.
- 4.0 mm diameter - a mid-diameter shaft balancing image brightness against access through standard portals.
- Light-post illumination - accepts a fiberoptic light cable so illumination scales with the connected light source.
- Standard eyepiece - mates to a clip-on camera coupler, keeping the scope compatible across camera brands.
Ideal For
- Orthopedic and sports-medicine operating rooms
- Knee, shoulder, hip, and small-joint arthroscopy
- Ambulatory surgery centers handling high arthroscopy volume
- Use by orthopedic and sports-medicine surgeons
