The Covidien ForceTriad Energy Platform is a versatile ESU generator designed for both open and laparoscopic electrosurgical procedures. It offers a streamlined solution for surgeons by combining electrosurgical and tissue fusion capabilities into a single, efficient platform. In the past, multiple pieces of equipment were needed for monopolar, bipolar, and vessel sealing functions. However, the Covidien ForceTriad simplifies this with its comprehensive features, including electrosurgical cutting and coagulation, bipolar function, and LigaSure tissue fusion. While newer models may have the Covidien brand instead of Valleylab, the cutting-edge technology remains the same. Advantages of using the Covidien ForceTriad ESU unit include compatibility with common electrosurgical and LigaSure instruments, faster fusion cycles compared to the original LigaSure generator, easy touchscreen setup, and reduced demands on staff during procedures.
